In relinquishing the duties of the chair this evening, I have to express the interest and pleasure with which I have presided at these meetings and listened to the communications and debates of the Society during my term of office as your President for the last two years. And while I thanked you at the commencement of my career for the honour you then conferred upon me in my election to that distinguished position, I have now at its close
